4G LTE Cell Phone Signal Boosters for Sprint
Do you have Sprint WiMAX? Contact us for options.
About Sprint
The Sprint Nextel Corporation is the third largest carrier in the United States. In addition to the main Sprint brand, the company have multiple subsidiaries that also use the Sprint network. If you are a Nextel or iDEN customer, see our Nextel article.
Sprint’s Brands
The following subsidiaries use Sprint’s network so if you subscribe to one of the following services, the signal booster information below also applies to you.
Assurance Wireless
Assurance Wireless offers lifeline phone services through Virgin Mobile to provide free phones and minutes to low income customers in 31 states.
Boost Mobile
Boost Mobile is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sprint Nextel Corporation and provides cell phone service in the United States. If you are on the Boost Mobile’s iDEN network, please see our article on Nextel. Boost Mobile uses Sprint’s CDMA network for 3G service and their WiMAX network for 4G service.
Virgin Mobile USA
Virgin Mobile is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sprint Nextel Corporation and provides cell phone service in the United States. Virgin Mobile uses Sprint’s CDMA network for 3G service and their WiMAX network for 4G service.
Sprint 3G Signal Boosters
Sprint operates a 3G network on 800 MHz (CDMA/1xRTT) and 1900 MHz (CDMA/1xRTT and Ev-DO Rev.0 & A). These frequencies are the standard frequencies used by cell services in the United States. Signal boosters that amplify both of these frequency bands are referred to as “dual-band” amplifiers and will boost 3G phone and Internet access for Sprint customers and all subsidiaries.
Sprint 4G WiMAX
Sprint licenses a WiMAX network from Clearwire Corporation and is used primarily by Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile subscribers. The network operates on the 2500 MHz frequency band and requires a special signal booster. If you need to boost this WiMAX network, contact us for details on a special WiMAX signal booster kit.
Sprint 4G LTE
Sprint’s new 4G LTE network is being deployed primarily on the 1900 MHz frequency band. Unfortunately, the LTE network uses a block of the 1900 MHz frequency band that is not covered by standard dual-band amplifiers. At this time, there are no amplifier kits that will boost Sprint’s 4G LTE network.
Bottom Line
If you have Nextel or use their iDEN network through Boost Mobile, it’s time to get a new phone because that network is going away! If you need to boost phone calls on Sprint’s 3G network, choose any standard dual-band signal booster. If you need to boost 4G WiMAX, there is a signal booster available so contact us for more information. At this time, we do not have a signal booster for Sprint’s 4G LTE network.
