Product Details

The Cel-Fi GO X System is our top recommended signal booster for homes, offices, and other buildings where the existing outside signal is 2 bars or less. The GO X is a single carrier system, which allows the GO X to have up to 100 dB of gain instead of being limited to only 70 dB of gain for multi-carrier systems. This extra power allows you to get more coverage even when the signal is weak.

Why the Cel-Fi GO X?

  • More boosting power than multi-carrier boosters for maximum coverage even with a weak outside signal.
  • Cel-Fi WAVE smartphone app makes it easy to monitor the system and troubleshoot any issues as necessary.
  • NEMA 4 rated amplifier enclosure means the amplifier can be installed outdoors.
  • Works wirelessly. No physical connection to your phone required.
  • Supports multiple phones at the same time.
  • Everything you need is included in the kit.
  • Bonus: lightning protector kit & pole mount included.
  • Fewer dropped calls
  • Faster Internet data speeds
  • Better voice quality
  • Texts that send quickly
  • Longer battery life

Your purchase is covered by our 30-day money back guarantee, so you can try it risk free, and our friendly, US-based technical support team is standing by to assist with anything you need. Your equipment is also covered by a 2-year manufacturer warranty, for extra peace of mind.

Recommended For

The Cel-Fi GO X is our most-recommended booster for people with a weak (but usable) existing outside signal. If your signal is 50% or less when you’re outside (2 out of 4 bars, 3 out of 5 bars, etc), then the GO X will give you better performance and more coverage than a multi-carrier system.

The GO X is a single carrier system, so it only supports one carrier at a time. It works best for families or offices where everyone uses the same carrier, or where only one carrier has a weak signal inside. The GO X will support either Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile at a time, and the supported carrier can be changed at any time use the Cel-Fi WAVE smartphone app.

The GO X for AT&T and T-Mobile will support both the 4G LTE networks and the older 3G and 4G HSPA+ networks, so any phone will be able to use the GO X.

The GO X for Verizon will only boost Verizon’s 4G LTE networks. All phones that support 4G LTE will get fast data speeds, but only phones that support VoLTE calling will be able to make and receive phone calls with the GO X. All iPhone 6 (released in 2014) and later iPhones will support VoLTE calling. For Android, search Google for your phone model and “VoLTE” to see if it is supported.

Cel-Fi WAVE App

Cel-Fi WAVE App

The GO X is one of the more intelligent amplifiers that we carry thanks to the companion Cel-Fi WAVE app for iPhone and Android. The WAVE app allows you to many things, including:

  • Register the booster with your carrier, if necessary
  • See how well the system is working and troubleshoot it if necessary
  • Change from stationary mode with 100 dB of gain to mobile mode with 65 dB of gain.
  • Change the carrier you want to boost
  • Use the antenna position tool to aim an outdoor directional antenna

How it Works

The Cel-Fi GO X starts outside with a directional outside antenna. This antenna is designed to be mounted to a pole that’s 2 inches in diameter or less, and we include a 20 inch tall aluminum j-pole with your kit. If you have an existing pole that extends above the roof of your house, you can use that as well.

The antenna picks up the existing outside signal and routes it over a 50 ft cable down to the amplifier which receives the signal and amplifies it. The signal is then sent to one or more inside antennas which rebroadcast the boosted signal throughout your space.

The entire process also works in reverse, so you get a strong and reliable connection back to your carrier.

For more information on cable lengths and included accessories, see the Kit Includes section at the bottom of the page. Different cable lengths are available for custom installations. Please contact us if you need to customize this kit.

Estimated Inside Coverage

The strength of your existing outside signal, measured in the location where you plan to mount the outside antenna, has a direct impact on the amount of inside coverage you'll get from a signal booster. The distance between the inside and outside antennas can also dramatically impact the size of the coverage area. The table below shows how much coverage you may get depending on your outside signal strength:

Existing Outside Signal Strength Estimated Inside Coverage
Strong (5 Bars) Up to 15,000 sq ft
Medium (3-4 Bars) Up to 10,000 sq ft
Weak (1-2 Bars) Up to 5,000 sq ft
None (0 Bars) No Coverage

Please Note: It is important to remember that there are many factors that impact the size of the inside coverage area, so actual results may vary from these estimates.

A Note About Bars on Your Phone

The bars on your phone take into account not just signal strength, but signal quality. The Cel-Fi GO X can significantly increase the signal strength that your phone receives, but it’s very difficult to improve the signal quality. If you have a very poor quality outside signal, it’s possible that you’ll only get 1 or 2 bars inside with the booster, but the important thing is that you’ll be able to make calls and use data in places where you couldn’t before.

Will this Work for my Phone and Carrier?

The Cel-Fi GO X is designed to boost only one carrier at a time. The booster can be reconfigured to change which carrier is boosted, so you’re not locked in to just one carrier, but it will only boost the carrier that it is configured for.

Number and Type of Inside Antennas

The right number of inside antennas depends on how large the space is and how many walls or other obstacles are in the space. In general, we recommend one antenna for every 750 to 1,500 sq ft in a normal home and every 1,500 to 2,500 sq ft in more open spaces like offices with cubicles.

The Cel-Fi GO X kit is available with three types of inside antennas:

Standard Dome Antenna

Standard Dome Antenna

A standard dome antenna mounts to the ceiling and covers in all directions around the antenna. A dome antenna must be installed horizontally, it can not be mounted vertically to a wall. When using a dome antenna, you must be able to run cables on the backside of the ceiling, so it works best below an attic or in commercial spaces with ceiling tiles.

Standard domes work well in signal story homes and offices where you have access to the backside of the ceiling to run cables and make connections.

The standard dome has an average gain of 2 dBi on the low frequencies and 5 dBi on the high frequencies.

Ultra Thin Dome Antenna

Ultra Thin Dome Antenna

The ultra thin dome antenna is a very low profile version of the standard dome antenna. The ultra thin dome mounts to the ceiling and covers in all directions around the antenna. A dome antenna must be installed horizontally, it can not be mounted vertically to a wall. When using a dome antenna, you must be able to run cables on the backside of the ceiling, so it works best below an attic or in commercial spaces with ceiling tiles.

Ultra thin domes work well in situations where aesthetics are important but they also are more powerful to give you a larger coverage area. They are significantly less noticeable than the standard dome once installed.

The ultra thin dome has an average gain of 4 dBi on the low frequencies and 6 dBi on the high frequencies.

Panel Antenna

Panel Antenna

Panel antennas are a type of directional indoor antenna. They can be mounted to a wall or to a ceiling. The signal comes out the front of the antenna so it must be mounted in a place where it is aimed at the area where you need coverage. A short pigtail cable comes out of the bottom of the antenna, so you do not need access to behind a wall or ceiling to install a panel antenna.

In multi-story homes, panel antennas can be located in the attic pointing down to cover the floors below without any part of the system being visible.

The panel antenna has an average gain of 7 dBi on the low frequencies and 10 dBi on the high frequencies. This makes it more powerful than the dome antennas, but that is because it is a directional antenna, so it sends all of it’s signal in one direction instead of all directions.

Installation Overview

The Cel-Fi GO X can be installed by anyone who is fairly handy and is comfortable mounting antennas and running cables. If that’s not you, then we recommend finding a local handyman, satellite TV installer, or ask a friend or family member. Regardless of who installs your system, UberSignal will provide lifetime US based technical support over the phone and email. We’re here to help!

Before you begin, we always recommend that you start with a soft installation, where you don't permanently mount components, drill holes or finalize cable runs until you're happy with the system’s performance. Once you've tested the antenna and component locations and are satisfied with the results, then you can go ahead and permanently install everything. Finally, read through the entire set of installation instructions both here and in the included manual before beginning, and feel free to call us with any questions before you proceed.

  1. The installation starts up on the roof where you’ll want to mount the directional outside antenna. The antenna will be aimed later, so make sure it’s high enough so that the plastic part of the antenna is above any obstacles and has a clear view in all directions. The antenna is designed to be mounted to a pole that’s 2 inches in diameter or less. If you have an existing pole, you can use that. Otherwise, we include a 20 inch tall aluminum J-Pole that you can use to mount the outside antenna.

The outside antenna should ideally be aimed away from the house and not back over the house. So before permanently mounting the outside antenna, we recommend that you complete the soft install and once you know which direction the outside antenna needs to be aimed, choose the final mounting location so it can point away from the house.
  2. With the antenna mounted, you next need to connect a cable and run it to the amplifier, typically located inside of the building. This kit comes with one 50 ft cable and at least one 30 ft cable and you can use either for this run. The cable should screw directly on to the outside antenna pigtail.
  3. Inside, connect the lightning protector to the end of the outside antenna cable. Alternatively, the lightning protector can also be installed outside directly after the outside antenna. Choose the location that allows you to have the shortest ground wire.

The lightning protector must be grounded to be effective. Ground requirements vary by locality, but we recommend using at least 10 gauge wire and running it to the same ground rods that your home’s electrical panel uses.
  4. To the lightning protector, connect the 1 ft jumper cable with N-Female and SMA-Male connectors. The other end of this cable connects to the Outside port on the GO X amplifier which is indicated by a cell tower icon.
  5. If you only have a single inside antenna, connect the other 1 ft jumper cable to the Inside port on the GO X, indicated by a cell phone icon, then the remaining long cable (30 ft or 50 ft, whichever you didn’t use for the outside run), and then the inside antenna.
  6. If you have multiple inside antennas, connect the 2 ft jumper cable to the Inside port on the GO X, indicated by a cell phone icon. To the other end of the jumper cable, connect the splitter using the Input port. To each output port, connect a cable and an inside antenna.
  7. Once all antennas are connected, plug in the power and give the amplifier a few minutes to start up.
  8. While it’s starting, use the WAVE app to connect to the amplifier. To download the WAVE app, search for “Cel-Fi WAVE” in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Place your phone near the GO X amplifier, make sure bluetooth is enabled on your phone, and then launch the app. When you launch the app, it will attempt to connect to the booster which can take one to five minutes. The app will tell you how the system is working and if there are any issues like needing to register the booster.
  9. Once the amplifier is powered on and the Cel-Fi WAVE app is connected, you’ll want to check a few settings and then aim the outside antenna.

First, make sure that the booster is amplifying your carrier. On the Dashboard tab of the WAVE app, it will say what operator the GO X is configured to boost. If this is incorrect, go to the Settings tab and then expand the Operator section. Choose your carrier and save the changes. The booster will restart for the changes to take effect.
  10. Aim the outside antenna
To aim the outside antenna, open the WAVE app, go to the Settings tab and then expand the Antenna Settings section. Tap the Antenna Position Test link.

In the Antenna Position Tool, start with the outside antenna aimed in one direction, and press the Capture link next to Position 1. The WAVE app will take a reading which can take 1 to 5 minutes.

Once the app finishes taking a reading, you’ll need to rotate the outside antenna 45 degrees or 1/8th of the way around. So if you started with the antenna aimed North, you’ll want to rotate the antenna so it’s now aimed to the Northeast. With the antenna in the second position, press the Capture link next to Position 2.

Continue taking readings in all 8 positions. At the very end, chose the position with the largest number and secure the outside antenna so it is aimed in that direction.
  11. With the outside antenna aimed, check the number on the Dashboard of the WAVE app showing how much boost you’re getting. If the number is low, contact use for help to see how we can improve the system performance.
  12. If you have any questions or need any assistance, please contact us for help.
