The amplifier carries a display that reads the signal band by band, so setup and troubleshooting mean reading a screen instead of guessing.

The outside antenna receives signal from nearby towers, the amplifier boosts it, and the inside antenna broadcasts it through the building. In practice that looks like calls holding at the back desks instead of only near a window, the card reader finishing the sale instead of spinning, and the alarm panel and the router's cellular backup staying online through the whole shift. Every major carrier gets boosted at the same time, so the Verizon phones and the AT&T hotspots come up together. Nothing connects to your network and nobody sets anything up on a phone, every device finds the boosted signal on its own the moment the system is live. The dead zones fill in.

Coverage Area & Supported Carriers

Coverage starts with the signal outside, so the reading that counts is the one you take on a phone up near the roofline, where the outside antenna will go. The tiers below turn that reading into square footage.

Many variables impact the total coverage area of a signal booster system. The following are estimates only and may not be accurate in any individual situation.

  • If you have an existing strong 5 bar outside signal, you may get up to 4,000 sq ft of coverage inside*
  • If you have an existing 3 to 4 bar (-90 dB) outside signal, you may get up to 3,000 sq ft of coverage inside*

Those figures describe the system as it ships, with a single inside antenna doing all of the work, and the Office 200 platform reaches approximately 20,000 sq ft with strong signal outside and more inside antennas added.

The Office 200 works with every major carrier in the United States and Canada at the same time, so one system serves whatever networks your people and your equipment are already on. It boosts 4G LTE and low-band 5G, and it runs on the 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 1900 MHz, and AWS 1700/2100 MHz frequencies. It will not work in most European, Asian, and African countries, which use different frequencies.

Installation Overview

Putting this in is a real project, not an afternoon of plugging things in. The outside antenna mounts high on the roof or a mast, one cable entry gets drilled, sealed, and firestopped where the construction calls for it, and the cable routes cleanly through the finished space to the amplifier inside. A second cable run carries the boosted signal from the amplifier out to the inside antenna. Most buyers hand the work to their own facilities or IT people or a low-voltage contractor, since none of it is electrical. The amplifier plugs into a standard outlet.

Start with a soft install, everything connected and set in place loosely, and confirm the coverage before anything is mounted for good. Keep the two antennas as far apart as the building allows, because signal from the inside antenna reaching the outside one forces the amplifier to turn its own gain down. Antenna Options

Outside: Omni Antenna

The omni receives signal from every direction at once, so nothing has to be aimed and nobody has to work out which tower is yours. That makes it the outside antenna to take when the signal outside is decent or the towers sit in different directions. It has 4 dB of gain, less than a directional antenna delivers, which is the price of never having to find the tower.

Inside: Low-Profile Dome Antenna

The low-profile dome mounts to the ceiling and broadcasts in a circle around itself, and it sits nearly flush, so it disappears into a finished room. The cable has to reach it from above, so confirm attic access or removable ceiling tiles before you settle on the spot. Average gain runs 4 dBi on the low frequencies and 6 dBi on the high.

If This Is Not the Right Configuration

If your building already has coaxial runs from an old cable television or satellite install, the refurbished 75 Ohm Office 200 (471047R) runs on that wiring with F-connectors and RG11 cable. If the signal outside is weak, the refurbished Yagi and panel configuration (475047R) aims at a single distant tower instead. For more inside antennas, a higher-gain outside antenna, or the longer warranty, the new Office 200 offers all three.
