The weBoost Office 100 is designed for permanent installation in commercial or residential buildings. It can be installed by a contractor, IT team, or confident DIYer, depending on your building type and cable access.

Here’s how a typical setup works:

1. Mount the outside antenna
Choose a location at or above the roofline with the strongest available signal. Directional antennas like the Yagi or LPDA must be aimed at your carrier’s nearest tower. Omni antennas do not require aiming but perform best in areas with strong, consistent signal in all directions.

2. Run the outside antenna cable
Connect the 75-foot cable to the outdoor antenna and route it inside. Before connecting to the amplifier, attach the lightning surge protector at the end of the cable. Use the included 2-foot jumper cable to connect from the surge protector to the outdoor port on the amplifier.

3. Place the amplifier indoors
Mount the amplifier in a clean, dry location with access to power. Server rooms, network closets, or utility areas often work well. The amplifier can be shelf-mounted or attached to a wall.

4. Connect the inside antenna or antennas

• If you are using one inside antenna, connect it directly to the amplifier using the 60-foot cable.
• If you are using two or more inside antennas, connect the included 2-foot jumper cable to the amplifier’s indoor port, then connect it to the splitter. From the splitter, run one 60-foot cable to each inside antenna.

Dome antennas must be ceiling-mounted and require access above for cable routing. Panel antennas can be wall-mounted or placed in attics to aim downward into living or work areas.

5. Power on and test
Plug in the amplifier and check signal strength in different parts of the building. Walk the space with a phone from each major carrier you use. Adjust the outdoor antenna direction or reposition indoor antennas if needed for better coverage.

Installer Tips:

• Keep outdoor and indoor antennas as far apart as possible to avoid signal oscillation
• In multi-antenna setups, balance coverage by spacing antennas evenly across the floorplan
• Avoid sharp bends or loops in cable runs
• Do not coil excess cable near the amplifier
• In low-signal areas, take time to aim the LPDA antenna precisely for best results
• Always ground the lightning protector and keep it as close as practical to the building entry point

Outside Antennas

You’ll choose one outside antenna for your system. This antenna is mounted on the roof or high up on an exterior wall, and it brings in the signal from nearby cell towers.

Omni Antenna

• Receives signal from all directions
• Does not need to be aimed
• Has 4 dBi of gain
• Works best when outside signal is strong and towers are in multiple directions
• A good fit for flat or hilly urban areas, but not recommended in weak signal environments
  

Yagi Directional Antenna

• Focuses on a single direction, with a wider beam than the LPDA
• Needs to be aimed at the nearest cell tower
• Has 10 dBi of gain
• Ideal for suburban or rural buildings with some outside signal
• A strong choice if you can see or detect a tower in one direction
  

LPDA High-Gain Antenna

• Most focused and powerful option
• Requires precise aiming with clear line of sight to the tower
• Provides 11 to 13 dBi of gain
• Designed for remote locations, low valleys, or areas with very weak or noisy signal
• Not a good fit if signal is bouncing or blocked by obstacles
  

Real-world tip: If you’re unsure, go with the Yagi. It handles most situations well. If you have only one bar outside or your phone barely connects, the LPDA is usually the better choice.

Inside Antennas

You’ll choose one or more indoor antennas to rebroadcast the boosted signal throughout your building. The right antenna depends on how your space is laid out and whether you have access above the ceiling.

Standard Dome Antenna

• Mounts to the ceiling and covers in all directions
• Requires access above the ceiling for cable routing
• Average gain: 2 dBi on low frequencies, 5 dBi on high frequencies
• Best for open rooms or drop-ceiling layouts like offices or stores
  

Ultra-Thin Dome Antenna

• A slimmer, more discreet version of the standard dome
• Slightly stronger performance
• Average gain: 4 dBi on low frequencies, 6 dBi on high frequencies
• A good option for customer-facing spaces where appearance matters
• Also requires above-ceiling access
  

Panel Antenna

• Mounts to a wall or in an attic
• Broadcasts signal outward from the front face
• Does not require ceiling access
• Average gain: 7 dBi on low frequencies, 10 dBi on high frequencies
• Ideal for long hallways, segmented layouts, or multi-floor coverage from an attic
  

Installer tip: Use panel antennas when you need to direct signal down a hallway or from one floor to another. Use dome antennas for open areas where signal needs to spread evenly in all directions.

How Many Inside Antennas Do You Need

The number of antennas depends on your square footage, wall materials, and whether the layout is open or segmented.

Use these general guidelines:

• 1 antenna: Up to 2,500 square feet in a mostly open layout
• 2 antennas: Up to 5,000 square feet or buildings with multiple rooms
• 3 antennas: Up to 10,000 square feet in offices or commercial suites
• 4 antennas: Up to 15,000 square feet in multi-floor or warehouse-type layouts

Each antenna covers a zone, not the entire building. Spreading them out properly is key to full coverage.
